I haven't watched The History Channel in a while since I no longer get it on my basic cable. But the last time I did, it was getting pretty abyssmal with shows like "Ice Road Truckers" and "Pawn Stars". What do those have to do with history? Not much that I can see. Another was the joke about it being "The Hitler Channel" because of all the silly and ridiculously inaccurate Hitler documentaries and other World War II stuff they were running some time ago. Perhaps it's gotten better now, but most of the programming was like the rest of TV, about at the level of a 12-year old.

`Unfortunately, the boob tube affects many peoples' outlook and viewpoints on things. With the state it's in today, it's truly a case of garbage in/garbage out, and people are being dumbed down by TV and a host of other things. Not a good source to get accurate information from, history or otherwise.
