history, my favourite subject. regardless of following a career path in the entertainment sector, history will always be the fuel that started; and still feeds the fire. which all started with a family day out & a book i took to school.it was this that caused a side effect of becoming my history teachers star pupil. i'll never forget it. we would be studying the wars of the rose's, specifically the battle of bosworth. the weekend previous, the 4 of us travelled to leicester and visited the battlefield itself as well as the visitor centre, which is where i got the book. on the day i took the book to my history class my teacher gave me 8 credits, even i had to ask her twice. when i moved up a year and started studying shakespeare, i understood it in greater depth because i knew who the people were, i had got inside the bard's head through visiting his home and it was due to my interest in history. as for acting i began to see links between historical fact, literature especially in the classics and i soon won awards for my portrayals of shakespeare's characters.yet every time i visit a castle or see joust reenactments, i suddenly feel i'm home and everything is familiar.so, now i don't hide it, i dress to the period as often as i can although attending events is something i'm looking to do as i currently don't. i do feel that gallantry is something that needs to be restored to modern society for when i write the knights and lords etc in my screenplays, i put myself in the shoes of that character with the question "how do i want to be treated?"i do feel that i have been born in the wrong era because of how connected i feel to medieval europe and the fashion of the time plus the architecture and i would prefer "my lady" to "babe" every day of the week.
